If you are on the lookout for a new role but it has been a while since you last applied for a job and you don’t know where to start trying to navigate the options can be a little daunting. However, there are a lot of great resources that you can use to help make the job application process easier for you.
Here are three ideas to start with:
- LinkedIn is two way for recruitment! It’s a great way to show your experience, include testimonials from colleagues or clients about what you have done, highlight your education, qualifications and achievements so you can be found in job searches and companies can approach you direct. On top of which LinkedIn has an area dedicated to jobs where you can search for suitable roles and set up an automated job search for yourself so you can receive notifications as new roles come up.
- Recruitment Agencies – Whilst a lot of changes have happened online recently recruitment agencies are still a big part of finding a role and lots have specialised departments you can speak to and find roles through.
- Online searches, whilst it may feel that there is a lot of information online for job searches there are some websites which pull together adverts from different sources (ie companies and recruitment agencies) so you can search for specific roles and have options given to you from a number of different resources within the same search. Indeed.com is an example of this. Utilise these to save time and effort
Finally, whilst they may not be as popular as they used to be but some companies still place adverts in publications so if there is a relevant publication for the role or industry you are looking for it may be worth looking at that as well.
